Without a doubt...

One of my favourite albums in the whole wide world, i stumbled across los campesinos! about a year ago and both albums have stayed on my ipod ever since, the first album 'hold on now youngster' is amazing as well but this one scrapes it for me. I would write some full blown review about their 'sound' and all that jazz but i think it would be far more beneficial if you just got a copy of either album and finetuned your ears. Im sure they'll be on rapidshare or some other 'industry destroying' website, paahhhh.

Amazing. nuff said

VS.

Decisions, decisions: the weekend of the 5th of september should be amazing, no matter what happens but the age old adage of bmx vs music in my life has come back with a vengance.

i have the choice of going to Dev games/mutiny video premiere in Sheffield for the weekend, this would be rad as I've always wanted to visit the steel city properly and the jam and after party is sure to be rad northern kids know how to put on a good time. Butttt... theres no guarantee my aubergine ankle will be sorted by then and 200 miles is a long way to go to not ride. hmmm

or....

My dear friend sparrow(the dreadlocked wonder) has suggested going to offset festival in some woods in east London the line up is amazing: bombay bicycle club, dananananakroyd, horrors, metronomy, good shoes and pulled apart by horses to name a few. Again this would be fucking amazing, well its a festival that doesn't include kings of leon & prodigy so which is something refreshing to say the least. annddd its a mere 55 gold queens heads, mint.

what to do?

oh yeah the Polaroid has very little to do with this, other than the fact it has sparrow in it and he looks distressed, almost relevant actually.

Tower.

Local tower and general tech wizard Towey has a pretty ridiculous edit for dig, its all pretty much filmed locally by Samwise which is pretty cool. Haven't got much else to say other than watch it, he got skills.

A test of humanity?

Being waylaid with an ankle injury has enabled me to find some siccck blogs heres my two personal highlights.

http://scorpionkicktrick.blogspot.com/
- a whole website dedicated to the greatest moment in sporting history, this sparked a million attempts during lunchtime kickabouts at school, and to this day I've never seen one successfully pulled.

http://guesshermuff.blogspot.com/- Im pretty sure i've mentioned this one before, and im sure it gave a few people, particularly females a less than positive view of me. BUT i defy anyone who says that its not a little bit addictive, especially when you can't guess right. If this applies to you im pretty sure you either lack certain cromosoynes, are female or your just not human.

Lambrini Jam from ontcontinent on Vimeo.

Always wish i went to one of these.

snap.

So im effectively housebound due to a pretty silly trampoline realted incident which has left me with a broken ankle. This is made about two million times worse by the fact its the best weather and i really really want to go out and get drunk but can't trust my drunken stagger on crutches. Possible withdrawl symptoms? ill let you know in a couple of days.

There are some positives to my state:

1. I can now spend literally hours downloading every album i always wanted but never had time to find, my ankle and its healing time presents the biggest danger to the music industry seen in years.

2. It gives me the boredom/time/kick up the rectum needed to fix my camera and start shooting again.

3. Riding will feel better than ever when im healed.

4. Bestival will be made even better by the recent ability to walk and jump again.

5. I have enough time to perfect every ps2 and wii game our house contains (except perhaps wii fit)

and last but not least the sympathy from my peers and family, sweet as a nut

Past love.

Whilst I'm a firm believer that hardcore has had its day(at least for me, the lack of any decent hardcore albums for quite a while being the catalyst), this album reminds me so much of being 16, and not necessarily better days but certainly fondly remembered ones. I was never really into the whole two stepping, straightedge, vegan, boring as fuck side of hardcore, a guess i like drinking a little too much but for a 16 year old bmxer i can't think of much better music. Angry heartfelt vocals, power chords and hectic drumming, i cant pretend to know much about the technicalites of music but that sounds pretty sweet to me. My only regret is that i never saw them live.

So go have a wee listen my personal standouts on the album are the title track and 'false idols fall' both are amazing to ride to, flail about to and shout along to, what more could you really want?

'Actually im from Jordan'

Kebabman turned bmxer and Zeal team manager eisa was one of the highlights of the weekend, as was the numerous 'turkish' and 'kebab' dances thrown when he was about.

My hero..

Yo brahhh can I get some zebrameat?

Last weekend will almost certainly go down as one of the best i've ever had, Me, Thomas and Jimmy bruza took a trip down to Newquay to ride/party at boardmasters( certainly in my case the latter was more productive). I wish i had both the time and patience to write about everything that happened, but really i doubt anyone has any interest in hearing about how drunk people they've never met got and I'm sure for the riding side of things you can look on mpora or whatever the cool kids use these days. Instead i decided to write a few by words and leave a couple of pictures which i think say it all.

to sum my weekend up as ambigiously as possibly:
Sweet south african girls, jacuzis, free desperados, disgusting 8ft mini ramp, free camping, James bruza wasted like never before, neon face paint, scousers, all the emergency services bar one, cypress hill, washing in the sea, kebabmen who ride, fistycuffs galore, ginsters sandwichs, brothers.

Megatron?

Had a pretty rad night last night, me and a couple of fellow adventurers took a trip to explore/shoot some photos in an abandoned cinema/snooker hall in Camberley. After overshooting the place by about 15 miles and getting lost in random town in surrey for about half an hour(i think it was called bagshot?) whilst chester tried to get the guy who told him about its number through multiple phone calls, we finally managed to find it in one of the most unlikely destinations for a cinema ive ever seen.

Anyways chester shot some photos in this cool as fuck cinema room, it still had all the velvet seats and stuff, that and the whole upper floor looked as if everyone had just gone on break one day and never come back. We even got some sweet souveneirs in he form of some film reels and old film, however i have to confess everyone bricked themselves at least once at a door creaking or in my case a pole 'pinging' despite claims to being a badass the place was pretty unerving.

Check out chesters shizzle on it for some photos and wordplay from the mind of ripenny.

oh i almost forget to mention, whilst we were waiting to go inside chesters car fan turned itself on which was a tad unerving im determined that his car is a likely candidate to turn into megatron someday soon- is that immature?
